Messages and notifications

You need a signed-in member account. Messages belong to the conversations available to that account; the message screen does not provide a directory of every WYA member.

  1. Open Messages from your account navigation, or production Messages.
  2. Use Search conversations to find an existing conversation. No conversations found means none match the search.
  3. Select a conversation to read its history. Select a conversation / Choose from your existing conversations is the initial empty state.
  4. Enter text in Type a message… and use the send arrow or Enter. Wait for your message to appear before trying again.

The screen contains call/video-style icons, but their presence alone does not establish a working call service. Use the text conversation for communication. A booking can create its associated conversation; see book an event.

Open the header notification bell to see your notifications. Select an item to mark it read and open its destination when available. The badge represents unread notifications, not payment or booking approval.

  1. Open staging Messages, or choose Messages / See all from the header message preview.
  2. Search with Search conversations and select the conversation you want.
  3. Type in Type a message…, then select Send. Empty messages cannot be sent. If We could not send your message. appears, check the conversation before retrying.
  4. On a phone use Back to return to the conversation list.

Incoming messages are marked read through the latest displayed message while the conversation is open and the page is visible. A hidden page or closed chat remains unread. The header badge can exceed the number of conversations shown in its short preview.

For notifications, open Notifications in the header. Select an item to read it or choose Mark all as read when available. No new notifications is an empty state. If the request fails, the unread state remains; reopen the menu after checking your connection.

Text messaging and read status are the supported workflow here. Do not rely on an attachment, phone or video action unless the actual screen exposes and completes that action.
