Design and activate certificate templates
Production website
Section titled “Production website”The certificate studio is a new staging feature. The production Graduates list does not itself provide this template editor or automatic issuance.
New staging website
Section titled “New staging website”Sign in as the school owner and open Certificates. An administrator can support a school through the separate admin portal; that is not a member login.
Start a layout
Section titled “Start a layout”- Under Templates, choose Preview on a WYA starter template to inspect it.
- Choose Customize to make a school-owned copy, or choose New template to start a blank layout.
- Enter Template name.
- In the Page inspector choose Paper size and Orientation, or enter the custom page dimensions when offered.
Build the certificate
Section titled “Build the certificate”Use Text for fixed wording; Variable for values that change per graduate; Image / signature for uploaded artwork; and Line, Rectangle, Rounded rectangle or Seal for layout elements. Select an element on the canvas to change its inspector properties.
For text and variables, set Text / Variable, Font, Font size, Color and Align. Use Layer, Send back and Bring forward for overlapping elements. For an image choose Image fit (Contain or Cover). Undo and Redo help correct edits; Delete removes the selected element.
Include the required variable elements: Student name, School name, Certificate number and Graduation date. Typing a student’s name as fixed text does not satisfy a required variable. Add Program name, Issue date and Signer name where needed.
Save and activate
Section titled “Save and activate”- Choose Preview to review the layout and Close to return.
- Choose Save draft and wait for Draft saved.
- Choose Set active when validation passes. Wait for Template activated.
- Optionally choose Set default for the active template. This changes the default; it does not save other layout edits.
- Use Back to library or Back to certificates when finished. Confirming a leave warning discards unsaved changes.
A draft cannot issue certificates. If save or activation fails, keep the draft open and correct the reported error. Try again reloads a failed library/template request. Next, issue a certificate.
